  • This heat tolerant perennial (due to its grows mounds of lobed, purple, semi-evergreen leaves with silver markings.
  • It prefers growing in the shade, but can handle some sun.
  • Pink flowers bloom in the spring, but the leaves are its best feature.
  • Remove spent blooms to promote rebloom later
  • Great for mass planting, accent, mixed beds..
  • Do not bury plant crown, when transplanting.
  • Requires well drained soil (cannot stand water logging). Wait until soil is dry before each watering.
  • When in ground, mulch heavily around plant before winter to prevent frost heaving damaging roots.
  • To avoid winter stress, wait until spring to identify what portions of the plant are still alive and then remove the rest. Heucheras may respond better to having the dead foliage pulled out rather than cut back
